Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Memorial Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in filling medication orders, including IV admixtures, surgical kits, and compounded orders.
- Comply with all Federal, State, and regulatory requirements related to drug control, storage, and dispensing.
- Monitor medication stock levels and advise pharmacy staff of depletion or low levels of critical medications and supplies.
- Prepare and deliver medications in a timely manner, prioritizing patient needs.
- Utilize pharmacy computer software to generate labels, post charges, and enter patient-specific information.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports for auditing and historical purposes.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Current State of Illinois Technician license or ability to obtain within 60 days.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification through PTCB or ExCPT required within two years of licensure.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to operate keyboard and mouse.
- Ability to push, pull, and transport up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.
Working Conditions
The Pharmacy Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with potential exposure to infectious patients and materials, hazardous substances, and sharp objects. Proper lifting and carrying techniques must be used to prevent musculoskeletal injuries.
