Graphic Designer/Composer

Graphic Designer/Composer Mena Newspapers, publisher of community newspapers and websites in SW Arkansas is seeking the right individual(s) to join our team in the position of graphic artist/composer.  Full or part-time position(s). In addition to publishing 4 community newspapers, niche products and a well-known shopper publication, we are a digital marketing agency and a commercial printer of other community newspapers.   Graphic Designer/Composer Job Responsibilities: Builds quality and effective print and digital ads for our advertising clients. Work with our editor to build and compose attractive pages and special features for our products. Communicate and work with our advertising consultants to process and build ads on deadline Prepares our pages for sending to platemaking and press using publishing software Prepare, finish, and send completed pages from our commercial printing clients for sending to our platemaking equipment and press. Design attractive marketing material for use in sales presentations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results as needed.   Qualifications / Skills: Previous graphics experience and familiarity with software is required. Software and programs used include Adobe CS, Indesign, and Photoshop. Mac environment. Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook, comfortable using Social Media. Have an eye for design concepts, but also the ability to complete work quickly to meet deadlines Ability to work with closely with sales team and editor in a positive way under pressure. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects, deadlines and priorities. Strong written and verbal communications Attention to detail, accuracy, and good analytical skills with an ability to problem solve.   For full time positions, we offer BlueCross/BlueShield health insurance, paid time off and company paid life insurance and short-term disability coverage.    Our offices and printing facility is in Mena, Arkansas and the standard work week is Monday – Friday, 8AM to 5PM but some flexible scheduling is available based on the workload.
