The Paralegal/Legal Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for the Staff of the Corporate Legal Department. This position performs a wide variety of secretarial, administrative support, and legal research duties. This position also helps ensure the proper functioning of the department and enhances the productivity and effectiveness of a busy, professional environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare legal letters, documents and exhibits under direction of Corporate Counsel
- Conduct legal and internet research

General office work
- Maintain proper legal files
- Photocopy
- Process mail
- Prepare electronic documents/filings
- Answer multiple line phone system with good phone etiquette, transferring calls, and taking and deliver messages quickly and accurate
- Monitor incoming and outgoing faxes and accurately route documents to department staff
- Handle Inter-company mail
- Use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
- Use of Prolaw
- Maintain calendars and scheduling
- Data entry and updating
- Order supplies
- Coordinate departmental documentation for management approval and signatures
- Researching legal and other issues
- Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or senior staff
