Job Overview: Under general direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Mender conducts maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems to preserve the condition and functionality of residential, short-term rental properties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspects properties, appliances, and systems to identify any issues and completes maintenance and repair orders correctly and in a timely manner
- Updates work orders upon completion of the job (before leaving the property) to avoid delays with ordering parts and invoicing
- Ensures adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
- Escalates issues to the Maintenance Manager, as needed
- Complies with all procedures, quality standards, and health and safety regulations
- Cleans up and/or repairs any debris or damage caused during the performance of assigned work
- Communicates with customers professionally and politely
- Maintains a professional manner and appearance
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic tools, appliances, and residential maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and determine the repairs that are needed
- Familiarity with relevant health and safety standards and regulations
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least two years of residential maintenance experience required
Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or relevant field is preferred
