In accordance with the company’s ambitions, we offer a full-time position for an Asset and Supply Manager to work in Mendon Truck Leasing and Rental (MTLR), our main location in Brooklyn, NY. The successful candidate will report hierarchically to the Director/CEO of the US Business Unit (locally present) and dotted-lined to the asset supply central organization (in headquarters, in France). He/she will be responsible for the daily success of the supply chain, purchase, and product definition activities in support of 6 locations in NYC and NJ, which operates a fleet of 1,500 vehicles. This will be a very exciting, yet demanding position for a confirmed/senior professional, with further opportunities within our organization. RESPONSIBILITIES: Be the go-to person for the knowledge of market-specific products and supplies, propose and obtain approval from central engineering on product range and product definition, and from central purchasing for price and strategic/panel alignment. Daily interact with suppliers to coordinate/expedite the assembly of new vehicles from different components (chassis, fridge unit, tail lifts, decals etc.) until delivered. Lead the negotiation and selection of suppliers and products for shop supplies and repair parts. Your Profile: Supply chain (35%) / Product definition (35%) / Buyer (30%) EXTERNAL Obtain price quotations from suppliers on defined scope. Negotiate with market specific suppliers on price / lead time / other terms as needed. Organize and operate the purchase of spare parts and components key to our operation. Monitor supplier performance by setting targets and measuring achievements. INTERNAL Fully operate the purchase of OPEX (spare parts, shop supplies, …) within Corporate Guidelines, place POs. Cooperate with the corporate group purchasing team on CAPEX purchases. Obtain CAPEX purchase orders and ordering approval from central supply chain. Cooperate & propose to corporate group engineering technical solutions within technical policies. Contribute to continuous improvement by finding opportunities, tools, methods, and processes. Support fleet and branch managers as a team member with their projects and initiatives as needed. If successful, the candidate will be asked to manage a small team handling related activities. The successful candidate will be: Energetic and enthusiastic, self-starting team player, result-oriented and rigorous. University degree in Purchasing, Procurement, or Supply Chain with confirmed 2 years’ experience in this field, or similar combination of education and experience. English language, additional languages (French, Spanish) an asset. Able to establish relationships with suppliers and provider networks is essential. Able to lead cross-functional teams, able to manage a small team. Proficient in MS Excel/Office, experience in Salesforce (CRM) and SAP is appreciated. Truck culture is an asset.
