The accountant fully manages and performs the key back-office functions of accounting. They are part of a team focused on scaling up in a cutting-edge industry. Menet Aero’s tethered unmanned aircraft systems support many highly intelligent payloads for a range of applications, including telecommunications, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), and live broadcast video feed. Menet Aero systems are used by the U.S. military, law enforcement agencies, and in private industry by telecommunications and broadcast companies.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the General Ledger
- Familiar with Quickbooks and adept with journal entries
- Maintain proper supporting documentation for each account
- Complete month-end close activities
- Prepare all monthly reconciliations including accruals and prepaids
- Oversee A/R and A/P to insure timely collections and accurate account distribution
- Maintain fixed and intangible asset records and make depreciation and amortization calculations and entries
- Oversee and enter corporate credit card transactions and compile corresponding receipts and/or invoices
- Experience in cost accounting and setting cost standards
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles and proper application to the business
- Monthly management and Board of Director reporting packages
- Facilitate reporting to and relationships with debt and equity partners
- Work with external audit and tax firm to achieve clean opinion financial statement audits and maintain tax compliance
- Prepare schedules for annual financial statement audit, periodic bank audits and answer questions posed by the auditors
- Provide reporting of KPI’s that help drive strategic goals
- Prepare accurate budget, cash and financial forecastsProvide financial expertise and leadership to the organization in the pursuit of its financial profitability goals, including development, implementation, and oversight of reports to monitor achievement against those goals
- Monitor the cost versus benefit of the company’s spend, drive lean spending, and provide and implement cost control recommendations throughout the company
- Forecast cash position for rolling 12 weeks and adjust spend or determine funding needs
- Provide financial expertise and leadership to the organization in the pursuit of its financial profitability goals, including development, implementation, and oversight of reports to monitor achievement against those goals
- Work with the Leadership Team to review financial performance on a monthly basis
- Implement and monitor sound internal controls and standard operating procedures
- Prepare bank borrowing base report as required
- Maintain positive relationships with customers and vendors by resolving any accounting discrepancies
- Oversee processing of year-end 1099 Misc. information. Submit to IRS and subcontractors
- Oversee company’s accounting functions, providing feedback and mentoring to direct reports as the company grows
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Certified Public Accountant or equivalent experience is ideal
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Ability to work effectively as a team player in a diverse work group
- Excellent communication, organizational, planning, problem-solving and follow-up skills
- Quick learner with willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
- Experience in a private equity environment is preferred but not required
- Demonstrate a high degree of integrity and be the financial steward of the organization
- Fluent in MS Office, Sharepoint and Quickbooks
- Familiarity with SOS Inventory Management Software or similar software preferred
- Prior experience as a leader/manager/mentor preferred
