An English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher is needed in the Menomonie School District to work at River Heights Elementary. This position is to begin around November 7, 2022 and continue through the end of the 2022-2023 school year, with the potential to continue beyond the 2022-2023 school year.
The successful candidate will display knowledge and application of the Wisconsin Teaching Standards, Wisconsin Standards for Mathematics, Wisconsin Standards for English Language Arts, the English Language Development Standards, and the PLC and RtI processes. Candidates must possess a passion for high-quality work within all student populations, have the ability to teach concepts to both advanced and challenged students and exhibit positive communication with students and families.
Responsibilities include engaging students in conceptual thinking with applications to the real world, using data to adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests, collaborating with colleagues to improve the learning of all students, and maintaining a safe, respectful classroom environment. Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) license #1395 (English as a Second Language) or the willingness to obtain licensure is required. This position will remain open until filled with the first screening of applicants on September 26, 2022. EOE.
