Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients as they arrive at the medical office
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member
- Schedule appointments for patients and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or payments
- Maintain patient records and update information as needed
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and address any inquiries or concerns
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a medical receptionist or in a similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with phone systems and ability to handle multiple phone lines
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations, such as emergencies or upset patients
