We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team.
The position is grant funded for a minimum of (four) years.
POSITION DETAILS
The position will be responsible for obtaining physical health measure information (e.g., height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, etc.) from individuals upon admission to Merakey Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), prior to medication checks with psychiatric staff, and at other times depending upon program requirements. The medical assistant will need to be able to complete data entry into Merakey Delaware County’s electronic health record and support psychiatry staff.
General Duties Responsibilities:
- This position will assist psychiatric/medical staff, including but not limited to completing screenings, measuring vital signs, preparing charts/exam room, and maintaining steady flow of services.
- Will complete required documentation timely, draw and collect samples, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Will assist in examination of patients under direction of physician and data entry into the electronic health record.
- Act as liaison between individual and physician/CRNP once vitals are completed.
- May provide health information or disease specific information to inform participant about wellness and illness self-management steps he/she can take.
- May support Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) grant requirements through facilitation of NOMs and measurement of vitals.
- Position may be responsible for communicating CCBHC grant project participation expectations and benefits to consumers, including primary care services.
- Complete outreach calls to individuals with upcoming appointments.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by providers and/or supervisor.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum 1 year experience working as a medical assistant, preferably in a behavioral health setting.
- Computer knowledge (for instance, use of an electronic health record) and data entry experience is required.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
