General Responsibilities

  • Partner with Kemper Regulatory Administration and Compliance teams for DOI, Market Conduct Exams, BBB and Yelp Complaints that relate to claim handling practices Coordination with Claim leaders and Training to push out compliance updates OneSumX assignments and observations.
  • Ensuring updated state specific regulations are sent out to the appropriate claim staff
  • Ensuring any letters or attachments are created or updated for state specific compliance items
  • Data Call request monitoring
  • Requests from DOI for claim information Twice a year HSCM Audit (Home State County Mutual) – Occurs Oct and May. Below is what I have previously gathered. KAU DOI Complaints email box & KSC DOI Consumer Complaints email boxCCd on complaints that are “red flags” or that turn into specific requests from the DOI
  • Some need approvals so the claims field can respond, others need information rolled out
  • APCIA emails regarding Market Conduct Exams. – review and determine if the information needs to be sent out to the claim organization leaders that it may affect.
  • These notices also provide us with an idea of what the dept focuses on for Market conduct exams and there is an opportunity to do targeted reviews on these items to ensure we are compliant.
  • Regulatory Compliance as a Top Opp
  • Targeted review of those top reg exceptions per office
  • NK100 Policy and amendments adherence ROR and Coverage denial letter accuracy Use of U/W company in the signature of emails and non-system letters Letter Automation review DOI complaint trends
