Mercer Alternatives is seeking a strong, self-motivated Real Estate - Investment Alternatives Analyst in Atlanta to join its US Real Estate research and advisory team!
What can you expect?
- As part of the US Real Estate Alternatives team, individuals will work closely with senior Real Estate Team members, client consultants, and clients to support portfolio construction and management on behalf of advisory and delegated client accounts
- This role reports into the Head of North American Real Estate Research where you will develop the capacity to lead a comprehensive due diligence process for evaluating and underwriting prospective real estate investment strategies. Additionally, they will develop an understanding of real estate portfolio construction and manager selection methodologies and provide support in the management of such portfolios
- This position will assist in the preparation of client quarterly performance reports as well as quarterly real estate market reports
- You will assist with managing the real estate investment pipeline process
- You will work with other members of the Real Estate Alternatives Team to complete in-depth written due diligence on current investment opportunities
- You will deliver the technical support, along with interpretation of results, and project management to produce required client analysis and reports in regards to real estate investing

We will count on you to:
- Develop an understanding of the acceptable, market-based economic terms for strategies under evaluation
- Prepare standard and ad hoc reports and presentations to facilitate communication and transparency to clients and other external entities as required
- Provide general support to the research and due diligence efforts of the Real Estate Team globally
- Serve as a resource to client-facing professionals seeking current information on non-marketable investment opportunities, including data and analysis, comparison to other fund managers, and the opinion of the research team
What you need to have:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 0-2 years of relevant investment experience at a pension fund, endowment, foundation, consulting firm, fund of funds or investment management firm is preferred
- Exceptional quantitative skills to evaluate fund and portfolio performance
- Well versed in financial applications (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg) and MS applications
- Strong, proven written and oral communication skills coupled with solid interpersonal and organization skills
- A collegial, team-oriented, constructive, “can do” attitude
- Unquestioned honesty, integrity, and transparency
- Fluency in the written and spoken English language - competence is also valued in other global languages
- Domestic and possibly international travel may be required
