Merchology seeks a Receiving Lead for our Operations team. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Receiving Lead is a critical role that will be responsible for overseeing the receiving department through scheduling and providing work direction for staff to assure proper workflow that successfully meets company cost, quality, and delivery objectives. Additionally, this role acts as the primary contact for communication with other warehouse departments and office staff.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
A successful Receiving Lead will:
- Take ownership and accountability for all safety and quality incidents within your area of responsibility
- Assign deliveries to inspection line and ensure all incoming purchase orders are received by EOD
- Investigate partial and overdue orders and audit regularly for these issues
- Process corporate picking and sample orders
- Process and receive transfer orders to and from other site locations
- Assist with basic receiving functions during high volume peak seasons
- Deliver product to and from other site locations by truck if applicable
- Operate forklift to pick orders and put away new inventory
- Communicate by email and HubSpot tickets about the status of orders between CSS, Sales and Operations
- Train and develop team members to documented processes
- Identify problems, develop solutions, and implement change when necessary
- Lead staff through proactive decisions while assuring maximum productivity
- Foster a culture of respect and care for people by demonstrating trust, respect, and support for all members of the team.
- Inspire, influence, and guide others to participate in common goals
- Manage time effectively, delegate and empower others to manage increasing workload as needed
- Assist with all other tasks as needed
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- GED or high school diploma; associate’s degree a nice-to-have
- Proficiency in receiving and inventory operations
- Forklift knowledge and operation
- Ability to stand for 5-8 hours per day
- Detail-oriented, organized, and accurate
- Positive attitude and collaborative
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Word, especially Excel
- Ability to identify colors and shades
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly
- Ability to respect and follow Merchology’s core values while working toward company goals
