Director, Human Health Marketing Finance
The Director is a member of the Finance team providing Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and strategic advisement to our Company's Human Health Marketing organization.
The Director supports forecasting, budgeting, S&OP, life cycle management, financial evaluation, and business development activity for their business area. The Director is part of a team that partners closely with cross functional stakeholders, including commercial, research, manufacturing, legal, compliance and corporate teams to identify, evaluate and execute strategic opportunities.
This position is aligned to the Cardiovascular, Respiratory and Metabolic (CRM) franchise and provides analytical support for Financial Planning and Analysis across the CRM portfolio. This includes support of external collaborations, business development assessments and reviews of financial statement impacts related to profit shares.
The Director will develop a deep understanding of their business area and their strategic contribution to the broader Company enterprise. A successful candidate will have an intrinsic curiosity about the healthcare industry, a dedication to serving customers, a passion for learning, and an eagerness to collaborate in solving complex business challenges. The position requires an enterprise mindset, effective communication, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate across a broad network of stakeholders. Because this position includes responsibility for collaborations, strong accounting and reporting experience coupled with strong business partnering skills are critical for this role.
Key responsibilities include:
Partner with the Executive Director to provide strategic and financial insight on key business decisions and new initiatives; develop, evaluate, and present business cases to senior leaders
Support FP&A activities, including financial functional support for upcoming launches, in line and LOE products
Partner with commercial, manufacturing, and research teams to drive analytics that optimize capacity, pipeline and commercial investments
Support launch readiness activities for upcoming launches of Sotatercept and MK-0616
Support deliverables related to mid and long range pipeline priorities (ex: support stage gate decisions around pipeline progression)
Support collaboration products accounting and financial reporting, which includes knowledge of data inputs from all stakeholders and related financial statement calculations related to profit shares and royalties
Represent our Company on various governance committees with external partners
Support business development assessments for CRM franchise (as needed)
Oversight over global promotional investments for CRM franchise (monthly actuals vs. budget tracking)
Supervise a team of two (2) Associate Directors
Other ad-hoc projects (as needed)
Position Qualifications:
Education Minimum Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Experience and Skills:
7 - 10 years of professional experience
Preferred Experience and Skills:
MBA, CPA or other Master’s/PhD in Business, Finance or Engineering
Prior FP&A experience
Prior experience with collaboration products, including reviews of financial statement impacts of profit shares and royalties
Experience with providing audit support (internal and external)
Strong compliance focus, financial acumen, and analytical skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Passion and intellectual curiosity with respect to healthcare industry
Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
Strong computer skills, especially working with Excel and PowerPoint

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Expected salary range:
