Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
Directs the operational leadership of radiology Imaging to include X-ray, CT, MRI, US, NM, and any other modality that falls under their prevue. Leads the operational day to day processes and protocols, to lead the department forward by aligning it to the Bon Secours Mercy mission and values. Develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives to set a clear vision of departmental success. Directly and through the use of managers, supervisors, and leads, manages personnel, prepares and monitors operating budgets and capital budgets, quality assurance, staffing levels, goal and objective attainment, as well as site specific strategic leadership in the planning, development, and organization of imaging services within the hospital and freestanding imaging centers aligned with it. Oversees regulatory compliance measure and accreditation. Works in collaboration with other hospital directors in the market in strategic partnerships in utilization management, access strategy, payor relations, supply chain, quality, financial management, capital budgeting, as well as patient and physician relations. The Director provides oversight guidance to the departmental leadership team to develop leadership skills of those they serve.
Essential Job Functions
Directs, manages, and coordinates Imaging service operations to provide the highest level of patient care and efficient utilization of available resources.
Develops staffing patterns for Imaging Departments and plans staff utilization to maximize resources and provide quality patient care.
Directs staff training and continuing education and oversees efforts to guarantee staff technical competencies.
Holds staff accountable to HR policies and organizational standards.
Leads communication efforts by setting a clear vision and being an effective communicator to the staff.
Develops a culture to retain staff through holding self and staff accountable to a high standard in employee engagement.
Supports Market leadership to develop and implement market wide strategic goals and objectives, acting as a liaison for the site with market regarding site specific and system wide strategies and programs.
Responsible for imaging services financial management, payor relations, clinical programs, and serves as a resource of expertise in this area.
Collaborates with market and site leadership to work toward standardization in areas of hiring, orientation, training, imaging protocols, and department specific policies to ensure consistency.
Develops imaging growth strategy, focused on both inpatient and outpatient services and competitive landscape.
Develops ongoing relationships with medical staff, nursing leadership, and key stakeholders.
Focuses on patient satisfaction and the patient experience.
Leads by creating a culture that holds employee engagement to a high standard.
Licensing/Certification
One Imaging Modality licensure by the state of Ohio (ODH) and/or ARDMS certified
Certified Radiology Administrators (CRA) preferred
Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) preferred
Education
Bachelor’s degree, ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute (required)
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of Imaging Services leadership with proven success in multi-site operations
