Location: Mercy Health St. Vincent
Shift: Full- time Days/Afternoons
SUMMARY:
Manages specialized medical supply inventories and stock locations related to procedural services departments. Controls specialized and high dollar implants and supplies. Oversees and resolves inventory management issues and concerns.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Inventory management to include:
• Managing specialized medical supply inventories and implants including Turns/Excess/ROPs/ROQs/PARs
• Managing consignment inventory programs and compliance documentation
• Monitoring stock usage rates and notifies leader when par levels are inadequate
• Communicating backorder impacts to department leaders and research substitutes
• Ensuring stock is within expiration dates and rotates stock accordingly
• Reconciling and remedying shipping errors and miss-shipped product
• Establishes detailed inventory reduction plans and schedules based on analysis of data
• Meets with department directors to establish and improve existing locations
• Manages consigned inventory and compliance documentation
• Investigates applicability of product recalls and pulls affected equipment / supplies
Vendor Management and Purchasing oversight:
• Communicating directly with vendors regarding accuracy of product, pricing and delivery
• Reviewing purchase requisitions for accuracy, cost accounting and contract compliance
• Researches capital equipment requests and generates budgetary quotes
• Leads continuous process improvement initiatives for supply chain department
• Directs hospital Bill-Only program assuring compliance with policy and chart of accounts

MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Years and Type of Experience: 1 year experience in inventory management or supply chain function
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 2 years’ experience in medical supply chain operations
