Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Licensure:
Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare business office required.
Certifications:
Other: Excellent communication skills with customer satisfaction focus. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both external and internal customers. Dedicated to meeting/exceeding patient and guarantor expectations. Knowledge of credit and collections, insurance billing and follow up preferred. Working knowledge of patient access procedures for all patient scenarios. Ability to communicate with patients in a positive and caring tone is crucial to patient satisfaction. Working knowledge of banking, accounting and math principles. Must be proficient in relevant software applications (e.g. Word, Excel). Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient and hospital information.

Preferred Other: Ability to work under stress, meet deadlines and perform all daily assignments with consistent accuracy and meeting all standard requirements. Ability to use logic in determining correct document processing, and to read, understand and follow written and oral instructions independently with minimal supervision. Knowledge of healthcare payment methodology including Medicare, Medicaid, HMO's, PPO's and secondary payers a plus. Bi-lingual communication skills preferred.
