Job Summary
Are you ready to make an impact on the healthcare system and be an ambassador of continuous improvement? We are now seeking an experienced Lean Six Sigma (LSS) professional who has a drive and passion for healthcare and a commitment for creating best practices.
This position provides the unique opportunity to lead in the development and deployment of strategy and projects, to influence and inspire co-worker mindset and behavior across MFS. This role will actively engage with leaders and co-workers on continuous improvement initiatives to reach zero harm goal, eliminate waste, promote the “best-in-class” practice, maintain financial stability, and increase patient experience.
The selected individual reports to the Manager, Lean Strategic Deployment. The role will provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise to drive variability reduction, sustain process optimization and value delivery through the utilization of continuous improvement tools and methodologies. The selected individual in this role will especially employ LSS methodology and statistic analytics into the organization’s operations to accomplish strategic objectives, and will collaborate with leaders, process owners as a subject matter expert in the planning, designing, and completion of key projects and activities. Additionally, the selected individual plays and important role to providing cost saving and optimization program development across the organization that proactively supports business strategies as well as coaching process owners in the use of LSS system thinking and various scientific tools and standardized solutions and lessons learned across the MFS Healthcare System. As the Lean Transformation Specialist, you will actively support the organization’s operational excellence strategy to foster a culture of continuous improvement at MFS. Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy’s mission, value, charism and service standards.
Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Engineering, RN or related field required. Master degree is preferred. Must complete the Talent Plus Leader evaluation and achieve a passing score prior to placement.
• Certification: LSS Green Belt (GB) with minimum 2 years practicing continuous improvement or equivalent quality and process improvement certification (i.e., CPHQ) strongly preferred. Strong understanding of the value and application of LSS concept and methodologies. Prior experience leading large scale and cross functional projects a plus and wiliness to work towards LSS Black Belt (BB) is desired.
