Overview:
The incumbent in this position will work under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer. In this capacity the Director of Fitness will be responsible for the management of the Mercy Fitness Center. The incumbent will develop operational strategies which include budgeting, supervision of section managers, and employees. In addition the Director of Fitness must demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills in order to represent the Mercy Fitness Center.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3 - 5 years previous fitness management experience in a wellness, commercial, community, or resort setting. Management experience should consist of Associate Director, Assistant Manager, Director or General Manager responsibilities
- Required Education: Requires a bachelors or masters degree in the health/fitness field
- Requrired Certification: CPR certification
- Preferred Certifications: Professional certifications from such organizations as ACSM, ACE, NSCA, AFAA, or the Cooper Fitness Center are preferred
- Other: Experience with computer software applications, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point etc...Ability to work with capital and operational budgeting.
