What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Server position at Mercy Medical Center?
Overview
The Menu Concierge obtains meal orders and arranges delivery of all food needs to patients with the goal of providing the highest level of personal interaction and satisfaction with food services. This person also offers assistance to complete selections to those patients needing assistance, and offers alternate foods to patients who have any issues with their meals, providing quick solutions and personal attention. Prior proven excellence in customer service skills, high-level interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task and basic technolgy skills will be required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
- Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
- Microsoft Outlook
- Meditech (if applicable to position)
- Epic (if applicable to position)
- Performance Manager/NetLearning
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
- Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Other Requirements: Must possess skills in safe food handling and preparation; customer service
Education and Work Experience: High School Diploma or GED 2 years in some aspect of customer service Basic understanding of foodservice and diet or ability to quickly learn. Use of baseline technology or ability to quickly learn.
