Overview:
The Vascular Technologist will, according to established procedures, assist Cardiologist during diagnostic/invasive vascular procedures. Responsible for patient preparation, making sure room setup is correct and equipment is operated efficiently. Works under direction of Charge RN and/or Director.
Qualifications:
- Required Education: Secondary and some post-secondary. Graduate of an accredited Radiological program or must be currently enrolled in a radiology program or equivalent training required to obtain RCIS certification.
- Certifications: ARRT in Radiography, if new graduate must obtain registry within 3 months of hire or current RCIS certification. BLS within 3 months of hire. ACLS within 1 year of hire.
- Other: Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills are required, and must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Must be able to operate various types of office equipment, including a computer, fax machine, telephone, printer and copy machine.
