Overview:
Charge Nurse-Emergency Department-Full time-Nights
1-2 years' RN experience Sign On Bonus $13,000
3-4 years' RN experience Sign On Bonus $15,000
5 years' RN experience Sign On Bonus $20,000
Paid Time Off Frontload up to 80 hours for full time only experienced RN's
$3000 Relocation Assistance for full time only
Differential pay for BSN, shift, and select certifications
The Charge Nurse manages the operations of the patient care unit on a particular shift. They are leaders who provide support, mentorship, and guidance to those who provide direct patient care. The Charge Nurse will coordinate the delivery of patient care by determining staffing needs and making patient assignments by choosing the right assignment for the right person. The Charge Nurse will ensure that all patients receive timely, safe, effective and high quality care. They coordinate the patient's plan of care with the bedside nurse. The Charge Nurse will set the expectations regarding professional conduct and serves as a resource for the patient care unit. The Charge Nurse will hold direct and indirect care providers accountable for their professional responsibilities and adherence to regulatory guidelines. The Charge Nurse performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Mission, Values and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
Licensure: Current RN license with the MO State Board of Nursing.
Experience: Held Staff Nurse position for at least 1 year.
Certifications: Must have American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within probation period.
Other: Skills, knowledge and abilities: Demonstrates skills in human relations and communication, written verbal, and electronic. Demonstrates clinical competence in patient care delivery. Possesses the ability to assess data and assist personnel in providing appropriate level of care. Performs responsibilities while fulfilling the Philosophy of St. John's Health System in providing care to those served. Makes decision and determines actions using our Mercy Core Values as a guide. Working conditions, mental and physical requirements: Stand, sit and walk most of the time on duty. Meet unit-specific physical demands. May be required to work differing schedules, shifts, days of the week, or work frequency according to patient care needs. Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 25 lbs., pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment used: Unit-specific patient care equipment, computer, FAX machine, phone, copy machine.
