Overview:
The Cytotechnologist discriminates between the abnormal and normal cells through an in-depth knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of cells, tissues and organ systems to interpret cell morphology and render diagnostic decisions.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: B.S. degree and graduation from an accredited school of cytotechnology.
- Licensure: ASCP certified or eligible.
- Physical Requirements: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 25 lbs., pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally.
- Equipment Used: Standard cytology equipment and instrumentation.
- Preferred Experience: One year experience preferred.
