What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietitian - Surgery Clinic position at Mercy?
Mercy Horsebarn Road - General Surgery
Monday-Friday
8:00am-5:00pm (8:00am-2:00pm/Fridays)
Overview:
Plans and delivers nutritional care to patients according to the physicians’ diagnosis. Performs as a member of the multidisciplinary care team. Screens newly admitted patients to identify those at nutritional risk. Assists the Dietary Techs and other support personnel. Exercises independent judgment under the direct supervision of the Clinic Manager.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree and Completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship
Licensure: Licensed in the state of AR or RD eligible. Examination should be passed within 90 days of hire. (Provisional license required for new graduates)
Certifications: Nationally certified; or eligible for certification
Other: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Computer knowledge to include word and data processing skills.
Preferred Experience: Previous clinical experience preferred
Preferred Certifications: Certified Diabetes Educator or working towards the certification
Preferred Other: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, Bilingual in Spanish and English
