Overview:

Functions as Lead to the Environmental Service Tech staff. Assists supervisor in the planning of daily work flows and directs shift activities. Responds to all service calls for Housekeeping from all departments of Mercy Hospital - St. Louis. Performs all responsibilities of an Environmental Service Tech I: Maintains the appearance and sanitation of all areas of the facility including, but not limited to patient rooms, diagnostic testing rooms, waiting areas, staff areas, examination rooms, and operating rooms in accordance with infection control regulations. Disposes of trash, recyclables, and medical waste according to policies and procedures. Regularly wears personal protective equipment (PPE). Uses bleach on an ongoing basis along with other hospital approved disinfectants and cleaning products. Operates both a pager and computers to receive and send communication about patient rooms. Hangs cubicle curtains as needed. Acts as supervisor in supervisor's absence. Performs all other duties as assigned. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, guiding principles and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 6 months previous work experience in housekeeping is preferred.
• Preferred Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Other: Must be able to read and understand basic instructions. Must meet physical demands of the position.
