Overview:
Responsible to oversee the activity of the Materials Management Department. Will oversee the various processes from customer request to receipt of goods, as well as liaison to accounting on accounts payable issues. Coordinate and direct the department in a manner that will aggressively search for new ways to better serve the customer and save costs. Responsible for maintaining department budget,including special project budget requirements, and department productivity. Works closely with other departments to ensure proper cost structure of the supply chain. Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Experience in doing research and analysis, and working with management level persons is highly preferred, as is experience with automated computer systems. Seven to ten years purchasing or materials management experience is required.
- Required Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or other relevant field; or equivalent experience in healthcare purchasing.
- Other: Requires an ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written forms, with department heads and administrative personnel throughout the Health System. An ability to work with minimal direction and accept responsibility is required, as is the desire to do so. Should be able to demonstrate computer skills.
