Overview:
- Ophthalmic technician helps in preparing the patient to see the ophthalmologist.
- Responsible for taking ocular, medical, and family history, chief complaint, completes visual acuity, refraction, OCT, and other testing as necessary.
- This position assists the doctor in minor procedures, does pre-op measurements for cataract and other eye surgeries, schedules surgery, and assists the front desk with phones and patient messages as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Experience: 5 years of ophthalmology experience
- Other Skills and Knowledge: Outstanding patient service skills and Microsoft Office skills
- Certification/Registration: COA and/or COT
