Overview:
We are high-paced, high-energy 53 bed unit specializing in Obstetrics and Well Newborn Care. Within our unit we have 22-MB rooms, 13-LDR rooms and 8-High Risk Antepartum, 10-bed OB Triage unit.
3-OR suites where we circulate all of our own cases. Within our unit we also have Full time Lactation Consultants who see both inpatient and out patients. Mercy OKC is the leading delivering hospital in Oklahoma City and second leading in the Ministry.
Job Duties:
This position will teach Childbirth Education classes only.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
- Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Certifications:
- Certification by Lamaze International is preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Certification by American Heart Association required to teach CPR and First Aid classes.
- Other unit specific certifications as required or or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.
