Overview:
Clinical Decision Unit is an innovative fast-paced nursing unit dedicated to patients in Observation status with an anticipated hospital stay of 24-48 hours. Patients are admitted from the Emergency Department to the Clinical Decision Unit for care and monitoring by highly skilled nurses trained in caring for patients with a variety of diagnosis. Typical patient diagnosis includes Chest Pain, TIA, Asthma exacerbation, COPD exacerbation, Abdominal Pain, Back pain, A-fib, CHF.
- This unit requires excellent critical thinking skills and quick decision making skills
- This unit provides an opportunity for Nurses to obtain ongoing education and competency training to care for patients with both Neuro and Cardiac conditions.
- 12 – patient bed unit
- RN ratio 4-5 patients, with tech support
- 24/7 Leadership support
- Collaborate daily with Care Management team, RT, PT and OT, Lab, Pharmacy, Transport Team, and the OR to facilitate efficient patient flow.

- Shift Differential Pay
- Up to a $20,000 sign on bonus offered
- RN to BSN Bridging Program to assist in obtaining your BSN (up to $16,000).
- $20,000 RN Loan Forgiveness Program to aid in paying off your RN student loan debt
- Up to $370 per month directly towards loan payments ($20,000 cap)
- Must start with Mercy within12-months of graduation.

Qualifications:
Education: Current RN license.
Licensure: Meets the criteria to be eligible for licensure in state of Missouri or currently licensed in the state of Missouri.
