Medical Stepdown
What we do
Our Patients
- Adult patients age 18 and older
- Varying diagnoses: COPD, Respiratory Failure, Alcohol Withdrawal, End of Life Care
- We care for patients through all walks of life. Our goal is to provide compassionate care and exceptional service for all patients.
Our Nurses
- Coordinate and prioritize care with multi-disciplinary services
- Educates patients and their families on how to manage patient's illness physically and emotionally.
- Are part of a culture of continuous learning and growth
- Are provided an opportunity for professional development through our clinical ladder program
- Are empowered to have a voice in their practice through our Unit Based Council
Quick Facts
- The MSD is a 21 bed unit.
- We have a 3:1 patient to nurse ratio.
- Advanced education provided including ACLS and Stepdown Fellowship
We Offer Great Incentives:
- Shift Differential Pay
- Up to a $20,000 sign on bonus offered
- BSN Differential for those applicants who have completed a BSN program.
- RN to BSN Bridging Program to assist in obtaining your BSN (up to $16,000).
- $20,000 RN Loan Forgiveness Program to aid in paying off your RN student loan debt
- Up to $370 per month directly towards loan payments ($20,000 cap)
- Must start with Mercy within12-months of graduation.
- Benefit eligible on Day One

Qualifications:
- Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school
- License: current RN license in our state
- Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
