Mercy Hospital South Neuro Step Down (NSD) is a unit dedicated to the care of neuro -surgical and neuro medicine patients requiring frequent assessment and specialized neuro care. It is a 10-bed unit with visualization of each patient room. RN ratio is 3-4 pts/RN with tech support.
NSD focus is on patients with:
- neuro muscular diseases,
- Ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
- Seizure disorder
- Brain tumor
- Respiratory conditions requiring ventilatory support.

Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
