Position Summary
As a member of the plant team, this person leads the safety function for the Springfield, MO plant. This involves developing positive relationships, setting a positive example, understanding the technical and regularly compliance requirements, and leading individuals in order to shape and develop a collective positive safety culture. Overseeing all environmental issues and compliance in regards to the EPA and OSHA. Duties include performing weekly hazardous waste inspections, recycling of used solvents, recording necessary compliance information, visible emission testing, and monthly inspections of facility
Key Responsibilities
· Provide safety support and advice to all employees.
· Identify opportunities, develop improvements, and lead projects through to successful outcomes.
· Take an active role in the plant employee relations by developing relationships with all employees.
· Provide safety training to individuals and large groups.
· Make sure plant is up to date and current on environmental regulations.
· Coordinate all environmental activities with the Environmental Compliance Officer.

Education, Skills, Abilities, and Experience
· Associates degree preferred.
· Experience a Safety program preferred.
· 1 year manufacturing experience, including overhead crane and rigging experience preferred.
· Required experience and abilities:
o Experience with employee relations and partnering with leaders, teams, and employees to support a healthy, productive, and safe work place.
o A passion for turning problems into opportunities – with the ability to identify, analyze, and collaborate with others to implement improvement initiatives.
o The ability to connect with people in a way that develops relationships, with the skill to coach and guide others in a way that they can receive the feedback.
o A level of comfort for working in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
o Ability to analyze complex situations and make recommendations for action.
o The ability to take on safety related projects from inception to completion. This will involve the ability to use welders, saws, torches, overhead cranes and other misc. manufacturing equipment.
o Be self-motivated and have the ability to motivate others to reach safety goals.
