Job Description
MERS/ Goodwill is looking for a cook to assist in the preparation of food for the daycare facility, as well as clients and employees at the Aftergut Center. This position is responsible for complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards, following established food production programs and procedures, and responsible for the appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud.

Primary Duties Include
- Prepare and serve meals to Halfway House residents.
- Compliance with Health and Safety training (BBP, First Aid, etc.)
- Compliance with Health Department and Bureau of Prisons.
- Physical stamina sufficient to carry out assigned duties.
- Able to stock storerooms and freezer.
- Good communication skills, problem-solving ability, creativity, and initiative.
- Must be able to observe and monitor the work areas.
- Other duties assigned.
Qualifications
High School or equivalency required. Experience working in food service preferred. Two years’ experience in Food Service in a supervisory capacity. Knowledge of Food Service equipment and procedures. Ability to read and write clearly with good spelling and grammar. Must be able to work with the disabled population.
