What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outreach Coordinator position at MERS?
Employer Education
- Responsible for developing and implementing portions of the Education Strategy to engage and educate MERS participants to prepare them for retirement, and educate employers on their retirement plan options and role in administering benefits
- Responsible for writing educational content and coordinating the creation of materials including but not limited to presentations, proposals, brochures, website content, emails, etc.
- Responsible for conducting training for internal staff on various employer educational topics
- Responsible for the maintenance of employer library of resources including web content
- Coordination of annual employer webinar/events schedule, planning, promotion and execution, including CEO roundtable events
- Main point of contact for employer-specific requests to the communications team
Employer Outreach
- Strategize employer outreach activities and plans with staff that will meet the organization’s goals and objectives
- Develop and execute outreach plans, including key messages, call to action
- Coordinate the development of communications materials such as brochures, presentations, newsletters, and press releases
- Develop and manage ongoing employer newsletters, including schedule, content and delivery
- Manage feedback from staff and customers on the MERS publications
- Coordinate with external vendors on business development and relationship management activities
- Foster strong working relationships with internal and external teams to facilitate successful delivery of programs and initiatives
- Train MERS front line staff to ensure they understand the publications and tools available as well as key messages relating to MERS and our programs and services
Business Development
- Strategize marketing activities and plans with the team to meet the organizational goals and objectives
- Develop and execute creative and effective marketing communication materials, (e.g. publications/brochures, articles, advertisements, press releases, web site and portal updates)
- Marketing and sales support activities such as market and competitive assessment, customer outreach campaigns, initial qualification to prospect inquiries, and detailed proposal development and presentations
- Ensure MERS staff understand the key messages relating to MERS and our programs and services, and communication materials available for their use
- Foster strong working relationships with internal and external teams to facilitate successful delivery of marketing initiatives
Other
- Continually update the Communications and Retirement Strategy Director concerning all plans, activities, projects and other work-related activities
- Participate in special projects as required and other duties as assigned
- Participate in meetings, conferences, and training seminars as required

Experience
Required- • At least 2 years of marketing/communications experience in professional or educational setting • Career aspirations with an emphasis on developing leadership skills • Equivalent education and/or experience
Education
Preferred- Bachelors or better in Marketing or related field
- Bachelors or better in Communication or related field
Salary : $38,600 - $48,900
