The Technical Sales Support Specialist that supports our SDC business has responsibility for accelerating sales growth and driving North American market share gains through the sales team by providing technical expertise, continuous training, and partnering with customers for cycle development and validation by leveraging their experience to offer guidance and best practices.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Regularly work with sales team to provide technical expertise
- Present technical sales and educational seminars at customer sites, conferences, and trade shows.
- Be technical expert in managing key relationships in partnership with account managers
- Continually gather and share field intelligence with the sales team, product management, marketing, and division leadership.
- Travel to tradeshows to identify key opinion leaders, gather voice of customer, and field intelligence and continuously report to sales team.
- Manage and nurture key opinion leaders
- Work with account managers to support key accounts
- Following up with customers and sales teams to ensure questions and asks are met
Qualifications/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree microbiology, biology, biochemistry, molecular biology or closely related Life Science field is strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of biological and chemical indicators or sterilization and disinfection control
- Field experience using biological indicators for medical devices and in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical production.
- Cycle development and validation of biological indicators strongly preferred
- Experience collaborating with customers and identifying and nurturing relationships with key opinion leaders
- Agility to respond to customer questions and create presentations in a timely manner
- Strong time and project management skills
- Ability to use Microsoft office programs
- Ability to travel up to 50% and be available for virtual of teleconference customer meetings with short notice
- Sales support or sales experience a strong plus
- Strong listening, comprehension, and communication skills
- Strong preference for industry bench experience in a QA/QC microbiology lab, process validation, or CMC function supporting sterilization
