Facebook is looking for a Product Designer to join the Visual Systems team, supporting the FB App. We focus on creating, maintaining, and evolving the visual systems that define our brand in the product including icons, emojis, product illustration, photography, and live action creative.This person is an experienced systems-oriented designer who understands the challenges of complex product ecosystems and cares deeply about the quality of products. In this role you will drive change by developing individual product experiences into elegant and scalable solutions. We are looking for someone who can see entire design systems when they look at a single design, frame and articulate a problem, collaborate with product teams across the company, document their process along the way, and help us create a unified experience.The ideal individual for this role is a multi-faceted and innovative problem-solver that has an eye for great creative work, talent, and the ability to deliver and launch initiatives on time and on strategy. The successful candidate should have strong, focused experience in both product and visual design. Additionally, the designer must be a clear communicator, a team player, and have a proven ability to inspire and motivate the team to deliver world-class creative work.

Product Designer - Visual System Responsibilities:
- Own a product space and lead the design of concrete, end-to-end solutions that help define a product vision
- Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and data science to help define goals for your product area that ensure quality across Facebook's apps and website
- Develop a richer understanding of what people are trying to accomplish and how we can design solutions that are relevant and easy to use
- Help identify opportunities for convergence within products, and bring teams together by facilitating discussions, documenting the system, and rallying teams around the system
- Run and lead design workshops, and ultimately help decide how teams should think about their products more systematically
- Design product experiences that would result in design system evolutions, and contribute patterns to the design system
- Drive and contribute to educational programs towards improving product design best practices through talks and teaching
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strategic thinker: Track record of leading large ambiguous projects, which also involve articulating problems and defining solutions
- Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with other teams to deliver a product
- Seasoned visual designer with extensive experience both producing and directing visual design
- System thinking - diligent and considers a whole system
- Great at documentation and communication of design systems
- Proven leadership of design teams or large projects, and enjoys coaching or mentoring other designers
- Experience designing for various groups of people (accessibility, international audiences, multi-language localization, etc.)
- Proven track record of visual design and prototyping skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8 years of application design
- 8 years of visual design
- 8 years of interaction design
- Previous experience working on a design system (HIG, Material, etc.), a plus
