Role Value Proposition:


This position will support the newly formed New Business, Projection, & Emerging Issues team within Group Benefits Actuarial. The team will implement new regulations, including Statutory, GAAP and Tax requirements, and will prepare the Group Benefits valuation and ALM functions to support new products, new admin/claim systems, and new reinsurance initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Supporting implementation of new products and new admin system/claim platforms, new reinsurance treaties and new regulations (Statutory, GAAP and Tax). This includes the ongoing Long Duration Targeted Improvements (LDTI) implementation.
  • Liability projection work (GAAP loss recognition testing, statutory asset adequacy analysis, & Embedded Value) for Group products
  • Assumption updates for all purposes (Valuation, LRT, CFT and EV)
  • Ensuring that all updates are documented in accordance with MAPS requirements
  • Supporting model validations, including addressing issues identified during the review
  • Actively partner with GAM to develop & improve modeling capabilities


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, engineering, or related technical field
  • 3 years of actuarial experience
  • Excellent organizational, mathematical, and analytical abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven project management skills
  • Excels at building partnerships and fostering teamwork
  • Manages performance effectively


Preferred:

  • FSA, or near FSA preferred
  • Experience with PolySystems or valuation software a plus
  • Group Life or Health product knowledge a plus
  • Projection modeling experience a plus
