What are the responsibilities and job description for the FCU Specialist position at MetLife?

The Financial Control Unit consists of individuals who are willing to provide solutions to address core business challenges with MetLife. This role will provides exemplary customer service by working with internal MetLife customers in a timely and accurate manner.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Tax Functions: Ensure accurate tax reporting for customers and claimants. Increase customer and claimant satisfaction. Review processes to evaluate compliance with Federal Laws including FATCA and the Internal Revenue Code. Complete tax escalations accurately and on time (defined by escalations). Maintain satisfactory response time for all tax issues.
  • Support Claim Functions: Review processes to evaluate compliance with Federal Laws including FATCA and the internal revenue code. Support Claims and Overpayment teams through teamwork, sharing subject matter expertise, training and mentoring. Support our organization by participating in projects and activities that improve our business processes and operations. Demonstrate behaviors that promote professionalism and a positive working environment including flexibility and embracing change, collaboration, initiative, open and candid communications and ability to handle multiple tasks. Ask for and consider the ideas of others.
  • Support Projects: Actively participate in compliance and projects as needed embracing change, collaboration, initiative, open and candid communications and ability to handle multiple tasks. Demonstrate willingness to take on assigned tasks as needed, view them as a potential opportunity to improve customer centricity for external and internal customers. Communicate clearly and as often as needed with claims team to make sure the task being handled is done so to completion. Goal is to improve efficiency and compliance of company operations.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2-4 years of experience in claims
  • Strong customer satisfaction focus

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of Disability Claims systems, Master Tax File and EDCS
  • Demonstrate behaviors that promote professionalism and a positive working environment including flexibility and embracing change, collaboration, initiative, open and candid communications and ability to handle multiple tasks.

The wage range for this position specific to Colorado is 49700 to 66200. You may be also eligible for the MetLife Annual Variable Incentive Plan ("AVIP"). Your eligibility for an AVIP award are governed by the terms of the applicable plan or program documents.
