Role Value Proposition:

Within MetLife Global Technology Operations (GTO) Information Security (InfoSec) Risk Management – the Issue Management Program is responsible for strategy, oversight, and execution of the MetLife’s IT global issue intake. It’s focus is on NFR IT and Cyber failures and risks arising from improper or inadequate information security related to infrastructure and applications.


Taking into consideration the global security appetite/tolerance shared from executive management, he Issue Management Team captures realized non-conformance which is either actioned with a viable and approved remediation plan/timeline or annually accepted. In addition, this team captures policy exceptions for limiting conditions or constraints on applications or Technology components.


This role must have a strong knowledge of the PRC (Process Risk and Control) model with corresponding control standards and/or control procedures. Experience at determining violations or policy exceptions, knowledge on remediations necessary to become compliant, and various mitigating controls is necessary. Issue management data integrity to include proper closure evidence uploads is imperative. This position is responsible for supporting the global Issue Management Program in various capacities which feeds its’ data upstream and downstream to partnering teams.


This position will be responsible for remediation or acceptance of risk workflows, monitoring progress with active plans, and review and submission of closure evidence. This position will also be responsible for reviewing net new emerging issues, monitoring, and reporting.

Strong candidates will be able to demonstrate solid risk management via the SDLC. Direct experience conceptualizing, analyzing, designing, building, testing, and deploying enhancement and maintenance code into Production is preferred.

This position reports up through the MetLife Chief Information Security Officer. Issue related matters, including preparing tangible monthly analyses and metrics for management is included.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct risk monitoring on MetLife’s GTO portfolios and escalate excessive key issues to senior management
  • Ensure the full Archer Solution workflow of all issue analyses and correlate risk standards and procedures for alignment
  • Establish and maintain relationships with partners in the 1st line across all relevant control owners and delegates or project initiatives.
  • Provide support to rest of the team with ad hoc projects and special assignments.
  • Assist in workflow escalation to resolve limit breaches and review requests to exceed limits
  • Support management in preparing various risk dashboard and reporting
  • Assist in the development, review, and recommendation of Issue Mgmt enhancements


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • 10 years of applicable and proven experience in corporate credit analysis at an insurance, banking, asset management or other financial services institution.
  • Ability to work effectively with key partners (e.g., GRM, GTO CIO segments, Investments, Legal, Finance, etc.).
  • Can effectively influence others and gain consensus when needed
  • Be able to work independently and detail oriented
  • Strong presentation, communication and organizational skills are a prerequisite
  • Team player who can adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to collate and analyze information into reasoned and supported arguments
  • Good business acumen and ability to connect analytical insights with business decisions
  • Strong technical skills using Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint), as well as ability to quickly learn new risk management tools and concepts
  • Experience with commonly used credit applications and rating methodologies is a must


Preferred:

  • Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA or master’s degree in Business or Organizational Development)
  • International experience is a plus
