What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Collections Specialist position at Metro Infectious Disease Consultants?
Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking Full-Time Medical Collections Specialist who will assist the Reimbursement Supervisor with the collection process. This role will take place at the corporate headquarters in Burr Ridge, IL.
Duties (examples):
1) Assist Reimbursement Supervisor in collecting intake information, verifying insurance benefits, and negotiating insurance payment rates as necessary for all new patients
2) Perform insurance functions for all branches
3) Provide explanation of charges as necessary to payers and patients
4) Monitor unbillables and provide status reports to the Reimbursement Supervisor
5) Track and collect all documentation necessary to complete collection function
6) Provide appropriate documentation with all printed claims
7) Review Clearing House for claim rejections / errors
8) Other duties and tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Allscripts (software) experience is a plus
- COVID-19 Vaccination (with booster if second vaccination has surpassed the 6 month timeframe)
