What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Metro Self Storage?
A Maintenance Technician takes on the responsibility of maintaining our multi-million dollar properties. This position reports directly to the District Manager and is responsible for facility management, maintenance, and safety of our storage facilities. Qualified candidates have previous general maintenance experience, basic computer skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Facility Management and understanding of all mechanical systems
- Assist in security contracts for all outside vendor work
- Performs general cleaning of inside and outside of property
- General Maintenance including:
- Electrical – ballasts, interior and exterior lighting
- Painting
- Minor Plumbing
- Basic Carpentry
- HVAC – preventative maintenance
- Doors – replace hasps, preventative maintenance, repairing gates, cutting locks
- Roof – general cleaning and basic structural assessment
- Storage Units – caulking, sealants, drywall, minor framing, hanging doors
- Other duties as assigned
