Supply and Distribution Co-op

Job Description: The Supply & Distribution Co-Op is responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of fuel to RaceTrac and RaceWay stores. This individual works to ensure that fuel is purchased at an optimal price, by evaluating, negotiating, and managing fuel freight deliveries to the stores. The Supply & Distribution Co-Op will collaborate with internal customers to identify, define, and resolve a variety of complex business problems and to support various corporate initiatives. The Co-op will rotate to a new discipline each semester, learning a different section of the fuel acquisition process. The potential responsibilities are broken out below. Responsibilities: Transportation Semester Serves as first point of contact for communication and problem solving with truck drivers to facilitate fuel deliveries to RaceTrac and RaceWay stores. Manages and optimizes store fuel inventory levels to prevent fuel run-outs. Schedules fuel tank pump-outs when needed. Analyzes logistical freight costs between storage terminals and stores by carriers. Works with Supply team to ensure drivers are delivering loads from appropriate vendor’s terminals. Collaborates with Supply team to ensure all contractual supply obligations are met. Scheduling Semester Analyzes logistical costs between storage terminals and upstream supply sources. Works with in-house Blender to identify cost-saving opportunities for clean product blending. Assist in managing & scheduling blend events at various bulk storage locations. Evaluates various bulk delivery options to ensure downstream supply demands are met in a cost-effective manner. Collaborates with schedulers within, as well as outside of the organization. Collaborates with product inspectors to ensure that products meet necessary requirements and standards. Marketing Semester (Sales) Serves as first point of contact for communication and problem solving with truck drivers to facilitate fuel deliveries to third party customers. Collaborates with Supply Team & Unbranded Marketing to ensure product availability for customer obligations. Analyzes pricing for contracts for spot, daily, and long-term supply agreements. Provides customer-focused and responsive support to unbranded customers during the customer lifecycle. Supply Semester Analyzes supply sources and optimizes the supply mix to reduce costs to internal and external customers Analyzes various pricing mechanisms and assists in negotiating contracts for spot, daily, and long-term supply agreements. Recognizes and analyze arbitrage opportunities Monitors internal and external customer liftings to ensure volume adherance Qualifications: Sophomore or Junior standing in a college or university with an Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or Supply Chain major preferred GPA 2.5 or higher preferred 3 semester commitment required
