The UNMC Fellowship Lab Assistant provides technical and innovative support to help local businesses that are part of the UNeTEch Start up collaborative to initiate, focus, and build physical and digital prototypes. The UNMC Fellowship Lab Assistant will provide additional support to on-board and guide new MCC students that are beginning the fellowship program by providing academic and technical assistance when designing, building, and presenting projects to businesses and leadership.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
1. Consistently and dependably attends work, activities, and functions as scheduled or assigned.
2. Represents the department at community events as assigned.
3. Assists in recruitment and marketing of the MCC UNMC Fellowship program
4. Provides academic assistance to other MCC students that are enrolled in the UNMC Fellowship Program
5. Provides technical and mentoring assistance to other MCC students enrolled in the UNMC Fellowship Program.
6. Designs, builds, and presents physical and digital prototypes of projects to clients identified by WID and UNMC
7. Works collaboratively with other departments, when applicable
8. Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite and other College-supported software.
2. Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities.
3. Ability to utilize machine equipment safely in the prototype design lab
4. Proficient knowledge of prototyping software (i.e. Solidworks, Fusion 360, CAD, or other) to build prototypes
