Associate Attorney

Meub Associates, PLC is looking to hire an Attorney to do transactional work, real estate, commercial real estate, foreclosures, and other legal work.

Dedicated to meeting the many different legal needs of people across Vermont.

Overview:

The Attorney will be part of a team of attorneys (currently 4) and support staff (currently 3) that work closely together in a small but busy law firm. The Attorney will generally be handling transactional work, real estate, commercial real estate, foreclosure actions, and business related work from start to completion. Because we are a small law firm with a wide variety of cases, there will also be the opportunity for the Attorney to gain work experience in other areas of the law, including civil litigation, education law, and probate law. The firm strives to have a collegial atmosphere with attorneys and support staff working closely together to produce a superior legal product.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Specific Duties would include:

o meeting with potential clients / client screening;

o dealing directly with current clients and providing legal advice to clients on all aspects of their case;

o drafting and/or reviewing business contracts, deeds, purchase and sale agreements, and all other necessary transactional legal documents;

o performing title searches and/or other searches in relevant Land Records;

o producing title reports;

o initiating and pursuing foreclosure actions in Vermont Superior Court;

o and working with other attorneys at the firm on larger transactional matters and/or other legal matters as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Licensed Vermont Attorney: An ideal candidate is an attorney admitted to practice in Vermont with at least 2 years of experience in transactional and real estate work, however, candidates with less experience are still encouraged to apply and will be considered.

· Experience with Real Estate, Title Searches

· Interest in Real Estate and Transactional work

· Self-directed and able to prioritize and manage a busy workload

· Detail Oriented

· Motivated

· Flexible

Pay: To be negotiated based upon experience

Schedule: Monday – Friday (with weekends as needed)
