Job Summary:
The Human Resources Manager at our engineering firm will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and productive work environment. This position involves overseeing various HR functions to attract, develop, and retain talented professionals in the civil engineering and land-surveying field while ensuring compliance with industry safety regulations. The HR Manager will collaborate with leadership to implement strategic HR initiatives that align with the company's goals and values and promote the wellbeing of our employees. Salary range is $60-80k, depending upon experience and other factors and is negotiable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Acquisition:
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent in our industry.
- Coordinate the hiring process, from job posting to candidate onboarding, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for all stakeholders.
- Collaborate with department managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
Employee Relations:
- Foster a positive work environment by promoting open communication, resolving conflicts, and addressing employee concerns.
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to enhance job satisfaction and team collaboration.
Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and collaborate with department heads to implement training programs that enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Facilitate workshops on topics such as leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and technical skills relevant to civil engineering and land surveying.
HR Policies and Compliance:
- Ensure the company's HR policies and procedures comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Stay informed about industry trends and changes in employment laws, updating policies as needed.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Benefits Administration:
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Collaborate with external vendors to optimize benefit offerings and ensure competitive compensation packages.
Performance Management:
- Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to measure employee performance against established goals and objectives.
- Work with managers to identify areas for improvement and development plans.
HR Metrics and Reporting:
- Develop and analyze HR metrics to provide insights into workforce trends and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports for leadership on key HR indicators.
Safety Administration:
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Coordinate the firm’s random drug testing program to meet client requirements.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure that safety protocols are effectively communicated and followed across the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or HR certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in human resources management, preferably in the civil engineering or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals.
- Proficient in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software and MS Office Suite.
