THE ROLE The Managing Director – Investment Product Specialist – ETFs is a component of the Global Product team. It serves as a product expert and business leader on Exchange Traded Funds with a primary focus on institutional and intermediary distribution channels. The IPS collaborates with a broad group of functions across the organization, such as investment management, distribution, marketing, legal, compliance and operational groups, to develop, position and support assigned capabilities with the objective of growing and retaining assets. The role is responsible for all aspects of investment product management, including supporting product development efforts, conducting client presentations, leading internal training sessions, performing competitive analysis, overseeing the creation and maintenance of marketing collateral, supporting the RFP process as well other ad-hoc activities. MFS is exploring launching a suite of transparent actively managed exchange traded funds. We are seeking individuals with significant ETF expertise to join MFS to support and guide this strategic initiative. ETFs will provide investors in the U.S. with another vehicle option for accessing the long-term value that MFS creates. WHAT YOU WILL DO Work within Global Product team and partner with Investment Management and Distribution to develop and execute on the firm’s ETF product vision and priorities. Serve as the primary ETF product expert in Global Product and overall Distribution organization. Collaborate with investment, distribution, and marketing team to optimally position assigned products including the development of ETF-specific materials and website content. Participate in client meetings as subject matter expert on ETFs and MFS capabilities. Participate in education of retail and institutional sales, relationship, and client service teams. Monitor industry trends and incorporate competitive knowledge into product roadmap Ongoing support to external and internal distribution teams with sales efforts Potential management of additional specialists WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Bachelor's Degree required. Advanced degree (MBA or other) or CFA certification a plus along with 10 years of relevant financial services product management experience Holds or has held a Series 7, 63 or 66 license. Experience launching new financial services products preferred. Presentation experience preferred. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of ETF product construction, rules, and regulations. Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze opportunities/issues and to recommend business solutions. Demonstrates effectiveness in leading/facilitating a variety of meetings. Demonstrates ability to build internal networks, collaborate effectively, and influence groups and/or more senior associates.
