Job Description
MGE is actively recruiting for a Field Safety position. The ideal candidate will work with management, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures, while being mindful of the mission and goals to contribute to the success of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Assists, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT).
- Advises Safety Director on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
- Plans and implements training for employees in work site safety practices
- Maintains safety files and records
- Performs safety surveys and inspections, (1 per crew per week) prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures as indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented
- Conducts post-accident investigations and prepares report identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management
- Assist, set up and conducts training.
- Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs
- Assist and maintain environmental reports
- Possess excellent computer, communication and training skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Must have current driver’s license a with good record
- Must be able to observe in real time, without slowing progress, of all applicable field operations and ensure compliance
- Must be efficient with time
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- OSHA 10
- First Aid/CPR
- Three years’ experience in the industry
WORKING CONDITIONS & AVAILABILITY
- Must be able to travel overnight. Project locations subject to change.
- Willing to work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Must maintain regular and predictable attendance. Attendance being locations determined to be associated with work such as: job site, yard, office, or establishments performing business with us.
- Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
- Working hours: 7AM-3:30 PM. (30-minute lunch, two- 15-minute breaks) 5x8 M-F

COMPENSATION
- $25/hour - $30/hour commensurate with experience.
