Las Vegas, NevadaThe Rigging Technician is dedicated to providing refined luxury service in order to create lasting and favorable memories. This position executes the company’s core service standards, brand attributes, and sustainability initiatives. Job functions include constructing, maintaining, and running the rigging elements in a safe and consistent manner and providing all other supporting services. All duties are to be performed in accordance with department and property policies, practices, and procedures.
- Operate rigging systems and related equipment for performances, artist training, and maintenance at heights as directed by the Head of Rigging, including motorized winches controlling aerial acts.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of all rigging equipment specific to the production in order to operate and maintain mechanized and manual rigging equipment safely.
- On a show, daily, weekly, monthly, annual or other directed timeframe conduct routine inspections and preventative, as well as reactive, maintenance routines to ensure the safe use and operation of all hanging, flown, or otherwise used rigging equipment.
- Inspect and maintain equipment, as well as update maintenance and inspection records as directed.
- Maintain a safe working environment at all times by conforming to all established safety policies and procedures participate in all required safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training.
- Work with the Head of Carpentry to create and maintain all inspection, maintenance and all other required documentation for the safe and continued show operation. This mandate may include documentation within AutoCAD, Hummingbird, TMA, or other show specific software.
- Operate and Maintain specialized equipment and harnesses for the purpose of flying the celebrity lead performer. Participate in special projects including the construction and installation of show rigging systems, and inter-departmental projects that may include hanging, flown, or other needs that fall within the technician’s specialty.
- Participate in required safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of all rigging equipment specific to the production in order to operate and maintain mechanized and manual rigging equipment safely.
- Participate in special projects including the construction and installation of show rigging systems.
- Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department.
- Perform all other job related duties as requested.
Required:
- At least 2 years of experience in theatrical and/or circus rigging in similar large-scale production.
- Previous experience in hooking up performers for flying and knowledge of personal flying harnesses and systems.
- Ability to and willingness to be Scuba Certified to Rescue Diver Level.
- Working knowledge of motorized and manual counterweight systems and acrobatic rigging installations.
- Formal fall protection training, competency training and overall safety training.

- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both in written and oral form.
Preferred:
- Previous experience inspecting and terminating wire rope and connection points.
- Previous experience splicing rope.
- Working Knowledge of OSHA.
- Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
