PRIMARY PURPOSE:
It is the primary responsibility of the Poker Cashier to process monetary transactions and exchanges with guests and staff in the Poker cage area.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform chip redemption and sales to patrons, Poker runners and Floor personnel
- Meet the demands of a fast-paced gaming environment by using good judgement and the ability to multi-task
- Secure and document all recordable transactions made with company assets
- Complete electronic multiple transaction logs accurately, complete transaction logs manually, when necessary
- Balance bank at end of shift
- Assist patrons with general information upon request
- Issue or surrender poker safety deposit boxes and provide access to patrons
- Establish new patron accounts following Title 31 guidelines
- Provide buy-in and re-buys for patrons participating in all poker tournaments. Assist Poker room supervision with paid patron participation totals.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- General knowledge of mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and money handling
- Ability to balance a bank without assistance (locating errors when out of balance)
- Knowledgeable of 10-key adding machine and currency counter
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
- Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
- Proficiency of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment, i.e. telephone, copier, fax machine
- Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
PREFERRED:
- Six (6) months of experience as a Casino Cage Cashier
- Experience working in a similar resort setting
- Experience with Title 31
