What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, IT position at MHS?

Job Summary:

Directs the general day-to-day operations of the organization's computer systems, networks, programs, infrastructure, help-desk support, databases, and other technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Operations/Infrastructure function and have ownership of IT Networks, Datacenter, End User Services, and Cyber Security
  • Create internal partnerships with key stakeholders, such as audit services, development, finance, human resources, legal services, and cyber security to influence and align business-area priorities and manage risk
  • Manage a multitude of vendors and outside contractors
  • Lead compliance initiatives for related to the IT environment
  • Establish operational procedures that are documented and measurable
  • Develop overall technology roadmap and plans
  • Formulates and implements polices for current and future systems and activities
  • Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics
  • Prepares, submits, and manages operating and capital expenditures for technology needed to support the organizations technology projects
  • Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency operations or data loss
  • Coordinates and manages multisite IT systems
  • Manage IT Help Desk including the end-user computing environment (desktops, laptops, mobile devices, desktop applications, etc.) to ensure end-user needs are met
  • Research, develop, implement, and evaluate IT projects in line with organizational objectives
  • Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management.
  • Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Skilled at transforming IT infrastructure and moving an organization to a service delivery model
  • Proven knowledge in IT infrastructure management in a complex environment
  • ISO familiarity or equivalent compliance know-how

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with an advance degree preferred
  • 10 years of experience within IT, including some prior management experience
  • Background in architecture, systems administration, network administration, and storage administration

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to navigate complex businesses with multiple site responsibilities
  • Deep technical know-how coupled with an ability to get things done
  • Excellent ability to prioritize work

Travel Requirements:

Frequent travel to Louisville and other sites as needed
