What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Director position at Michael Aaron Staffing, LLC?
Fleet Director paying up to $150K for an international company in the Boca Raton area. The Fleet Director will be responsible for managing and maintaining our fleet of trucks and vans (approximately 1,500) ensuring their optimal performance, and implementing efficient fleet management strategies.
This is a DIRECT HIRE and IN-OFFICE position!
Ideal candidate needs to be able to travel throughout the U.S. and Canada.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of vehicles to ensure they are in safe and reliable condition
- Ensure safe repair and operation of all vehicles in the fleet
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inventory, maintenance history, and expenses
- Coordinate vehicle inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Collaborate with drivers to address any issues or concerns related to vehicle performance or maintenance
- Find ways to maximize profits
- Develop long range plans to eliminate and purchase equipment and vehicles for the fleet
- Establish a schedule for recommended replacement of fleet vehicles
- Draft and present reports on department operations and expenses
- Prepare and manage departmental budget
- Deal with authorized dealers, contractors, vendors to secure equipment and vehicles
- Submit purchase orders
- Maintain warranties, licenses and registrations for entire fleet
- Arrange for repair work according to warranty guidelines
- Develop a plan for purchases and maintains vehicles for deliveries and company use
- Develop a plan for leasing and buying vehicle approvals
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (preferred)
- Recent proven experience as a Fleet Director/Manager with an international company overseeing over 1,000 vehicles
- Strong knowledge of fleet management principles, practices, and regulations
- Ability to prepare and adhere to a budget and to monitor and reduce expenses
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail to ensure records are kept as needed
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in using fleet management software and tools
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Salary : $150,000
